As if Paul McCartney’s return to Glastonbury wasn’t a sufficiently big deal, the previous Beatle introduced alongside two fellow music legends to accompany him on stage throughout his Saturday evening headlining set.

In what marked his first reside look because the passing of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins in March, Dave Grohl joined McCartney on stage to carry out The Beatles’ “I Noticed Her Standing There” and Wings’ “Band on the Run.”

Simply minutes later, Bruce Springsteen reunited with McCartney on stage to carry out “Glory Days” and “I Wanna Be Your Man.” (The 2 beforehand carried out the songs collectively earlier this month throughout McCartney’s stadium gig in New Jersey.)

McCartney finally introduced each musicians again on stage to assist him shut the mammoth 38-song, practically three-hour set with an exhilarating rendition of “The Finish.”

Saturday’s set marked McCartney’s second time headlining Glastonbury, following his inaugural look in 2004. In doing so, the 80-year-old grew to become the oldest musician even to headline the pageant.

In September, Grohl is about to reunite with the remainder of Foo Fighters surviving members for a pair of all-star tribute reveals in honor of Hawkins. Subsequent 12 months, Springsteen will reconvene with the E Avenue Band for a long-awaited world tour.
